Depending on the location, our Operations divisions may include Rooms, Food and Beverage, the Spa and Health Club and Four Seasons Residence Club Operations and Sales. Familiarity with the entire operation will help you understand how each role within each division works together to provide the utmost in service. Below are brief descriptions of what they do.
Rooms Division
Front Office/Reservations
Typically the first contact guests have with the Hotel, the Reservation team is responsible for selling and reserving the guest rooms. The Front Office then ensures that guests' arrival and departure experiences are smooth, checks guests in and out of the Hotel and assists in the guest-room introduction. Most guests see the Front Office as the natural place to direct comments, questions and suggestions.
Concierge
The Concierge accommodates guest requests, from the ordinary to the extraordinary (so long as the requests are legal and ethical). This might include such duties as taking luggage and/or messages to and from the rooms, arranging tours in the city or region, procuring hard-to-get tickets for theatre or sporting events or securing a reservation at a top restaurant in the city.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping provides detailed and personal service to guest rooms twice daily and maintains all public areas of the Hotel. Members of our Housekeeping team pride themselves on their attention to detail, looking to make sure that bathrobes are in place, amenities are in order and that our guests always have fresh supplies at their fingertips.
Laundry/Valet
From our complimentary overnight shoeshine to our one-hour pressing service, our Laundry and Valet department is there to fulfill guests' requests. Overnight pressing, laundry and dry cleaning are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet guests' needs.
Uniform Room
While they may work behind the scenes, their work is seen in all areas of the Hotel. Our Uniform Room works to give all employees crisp, clean and well-fitting uniforms.
Telecommunications
As the voice of the Hotel, our Telecommunications department receives all incoming calls and ensures calls are connected to the correct guest room, department or paging system. In addition, team members take messages and provide wake-up calls. Most importantly, this department responds to emergencies (such as fire or medical emergencies) and advises the necessary individuals by phone and radio contact.
Food and Beverage Division
Food and Beverage outlets provide exceptional food and beverage service to our guests in the various restaurants in the Hotel or Resort. They are the reason Four Seasons has an award-winning reputation for excellence in cuisine.
Restaurants
Each Four Seasons property offers guests multiple choices for dining. These options can range from casual Mediterranean-inspired menus or light luncheon and salad buffets to French contemporary cuisine in a classic and gracious European setting.
Employee Restaurant
From Three Below in New York City to SMAK (a local expression for "taste") in Prague, our employee restaurants provide 24-hour food and beverage options to all our employees. These restaurants, which are complimentary to employees, are not only one of our Food and Beverage outlets, they also serve as the centre of many employee activities.
Kitchen
The inspiration centre for our culinary delights, the kitchen both dazzles guests and satisfies every craving. From a fluffy omelette at three in the morning to an elaborate banquet function on a Saturday night, our kitchens are always in overdrive, meeting the demands of all of the Hotel's Food and Beverage operations.
Catering
From the small, intimate business meeting to the elegant, 500-person wedding, our Catering team works to support clients' needs. This specialised team focuses on selling and reserving the public room space, menu design and event coordination to ensure that it all happens flawlessly.
Convention/Conference Services
For those events that last a few days and require rooms in the Hotel, this team helps coordinate the group room reservations and assists in all Catering event planning.
Banquets
Whether it is French or Russian-style service, our Banquets department is ready to serve and deliver every client's wish. The Banquets department is involved every step of the way for all types of functions, from the planning, the elaborate set-up and the execution of service to the breakdown of the room so it can all happen again the next day – or even the next hour.
In-Room Dining
Always just a telephone call away – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – our In-Room Dining teams around the world provide in-room delivery of a vast array of food and beverage options. This department also serves functions held in guest rooms and assists to ensure that all private bars contain fresh and updated products.
Stewarding
Working to make sure that every piece of silver shines and every plate sparkles, our Stewarding department works tirelessly behind the scenes. This department ensures an adequate supply of clean dishes and silverware for each outlet and for any special function being held at the Hotel. It also keeps the kitchen area and the "heart of the house" clean and safe.
Spa and Health Club
Spa
From Swedish to shiatsu, our professional and specialised Spa staff provide a variety of luxurious and relaxing treatments and massages. These include aromatherapy massages, facials, herbal wraps, herbal and aromatherapy baths, full-body loofah massages and more. In addition, the Spa team coordinates the booking of treatments and ensures service and cleanliness in Spa locker-room facilities.
Fitness (at select locations)
On-site fitness facilities and our Fitness Club staff assist members and guests with their fitness needs (including personal fitness programmes), whether they are training for a marathon or simply need to get rid of jet lag. Our clubs offer a variety of exercise classes, including stretch and tone, as well as low and high-impact aerobics. Club staff also ensure cleanliness in outdoor pool areas as well as member locker-room facilities.
Golf Services and Operations (at select locations)
The Golf Services and Operations team ensures the grounds are immaculate and provides professional staff for individual or group instruction for avid and occasional golfers alike. The team also serves the golf areas and is responsible for our fully stocked retail shop, which features clothing and other golf merchandise.
Residence Club Operations and Sales
Residence Clubs
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts brings its world-renowned level of service and comfort to shared home ownership through Four Seasons Residence Clubs. Four Seasons Residence Clubs are created for the discerning customer who seeks a vacation or second home ownership experience of the finest quality, with the added benefit of exchange access to other Residence Clubs in the portfolio. Each property is uniquely designed to suit the location and is adjacent to or an integrated part of a Four Seasons Hotel or Resort complex.
Just as each facility is customised to the location, so are the ownership packages offered at each Residence Club. Offerings range from one-week intervals at some to multi-week fractional home ownerships at others that provide more "days in residence" per annum. Our dedicated team of sales and marketing professionals is focused on fulfilling customer inquiries and matching each customer to the location and ownership package that best suits his or her needs and lifestyle.
Owners enjoy fully appointed residences, in one, two or three-bedroom floor plans designed to the Four Seasons standards of excellence. They enjoy a service-rich experience, combined with the comforts of a home, in a location they can return to each year. Amenities and services vary by location, but typically include such standard Four Seasons services as daily housekeeping and maintenance, Concierge, in-residence dining service, pool, whirlpool, fitness centre and poolside dining, as well as access to the Resort’s spa, golf and restaurants.
